races

Yesterday was the Milk run. 8.4km. started at Zouk Carpark, then route was along the singapore river, twds esplanade. BAD run. but happy that i could run:) oh, i was thinking why i ran so slow, compared to the melbourne half marathon
1. the HOT hot weather
2. no hot hunk to pace me....the half marathon was so memorable because of him:) singapore runners that day were school children or in my books not as hot as that guy!!!! so in the last 4km, i thought, all i need now is a hunk i can pace and my prayers were sort of answered. this old man overtook me and was running a comfortable pace. i latched onto him and said i cant lose out to this 60 year old runner. in the end, i lost him when he started to sprint. yes, i blame the fact that he was not hot enough.
3. both races, even though were both along a river, the singapore river just looks dirty....and too many buildings surrounding the river. melb (geelong)had just trees.....

so morn, did a 50+ km cycle along mandai road. was chugging slowly on my own when this guy on a blue bike(i like the bike) passed me. So i started chasing him. So motivational with something(the bike) to chase. but soon, i was held back at the red traffic light and lost it(the blue bike).then on my way home, stopped over at macritchie. all the runners there. saw renuka, shi han, zhi yun, terry's entourage of girls and penster. and actually alot more others. felt so out of place with my bike there. then cycled very slowly home. did a cool down swim and was super tired. was wondering why i exerted so much in the morn but i jsut saw it as training, so was happy to do so much.

after lunch, started realising my legs felt wobbly. so i knew race would be very painful. but did not care. did not think i would win anything. with just 1 week of training. haha. i surprised myself. got 6th. was 1st for a while, but that did not last long. i was def the fattest prize recepient that day. haha...proud ofmyself still being able to run with so much weight on me:(
ok, then got my prize and ran home. woah, it was painful running home so walked a bit.

today, spent 4 hours in the gym doing weights. actually, i prob spent half that time chilling out in the cool ladies room looking at the mirror. haha. before that was at labrador park and ran with prissy. was trying to give her a good workout.

so, its been more than a week since coming back. so many things have happened. looking fwd to work!and racing again on sunday. hope i dont collapse in the heat.
