over in Singapore, the unusually high rainfall in the past two weeks has brought about the coldest March since 1974. Average temperature for the month is a cool 25.6 deg celsius - the coldest in 74 years.

A record heatwave has hit Australia's southern states,temperatures topped 40 degrees Celsius on Friday, the 12th straight day of temperatures above 35 degrees. All parks closed and trains ordered to slow down due to fears rail lines could buckle in the extreme heat. Volunteer firefighters Peter Bishop said he had a lucky escape after his truck was caught in the flames."Parts of the front of the truck were melted."
