u are loved

just spent a couple of hours playing and talking to this young boy in hosp. So far, he is the first boy in hosp that has made me cry and that I have induced his crying. Saw him earlier in the day in ICU(intesive care unit). He had been there for the past week, just been extubated and very very confused. He was also very weak. So he was scared of waking up and of what he had- i think thats why he cried. also, when i pointed to his pics in the room, and he saw his family, he started crying again. Just seeing him cry non-stop and not being so responsive, made me really want to cry infront of him. But i couldnt.

anyway, later i managed to spend time with him through playing games, watching chicken run the movie. Was happy that he kept laughing during those times. In the middle of our interaction, the nurse came in to tell him that his dad was on the phone and said he misses him and loved him. That made him cry again:(

and something that broke my heart. Was early on our play session, when he still was very teary and had not yet open up to me. So on his bed, was a box of chocs. I opened the box and asked if he wanted one. He nodded. So i unwrapped it for him and gave it to him. I closing the box when he stopped me with his hand. I was thinking he wanted another, so asked him. He indicated that he wanted me to have one. It just melted my heart seeing his gesture.

to this little boy he is in pain and may be scared of his condition- you are loved and I will visit u again tmw:)
