only 3 days of paeds

and i feel flat out already. sigh. spent my morning with Lou, a nottingham exchange student seeing a case. I can see myself soon getting her accent as we do some stuff tog.

I miss ellen. internet connection so slow cant play streaming videos from her website:(

last nite, was setting up wireless internet with chara and hilda. was creating a password....they were joking it would be chicken/chicken skin....cos that was what i was eating last nite. haha.

so what did i do today?
7am: wake up to study
8.30am: morning handover. thats when the doctor on night call the previous nite briefs the morning doctors on the new admission.
u must see this room man....there is a large plasma screen(not for tv)....its used as a monitor to display the computer screen blood test results or imaging to the other doctors in the room.....

9-11am: Lou and I read up on inflamm bowel disease and diabetes, then went to see a patient

11am: play therapy lecture. so the clown doctors talked to us about their work, how to distract children while procedures are being done. play music, blow bubbles, magic tricks, OH...wear bright colours to work. then the play therapist talked to us.....I would love to be a patient at this hosp. there is a door that leads to something like the secret garden...fairy themed. so the hosp kids dress up as fairies and play inside, there is fountain and other stuff... then there is the starlight foundation room. with 10 play stations, big screen tv and volunteers that are there to play with u!!! even in the outpatient dept, there is an xbox!!!!

1pm-4pm: learnt how to resuscitate a newborn(practised on a dummy), lectures on physiology and history taking of a newborn.

now: flat out on me bed after eating so much chicken. i feel like puking chicken now
